Hello everyone,

It's that time of the week again! This thread will remain open for the next 24h or so.

Open issues:

  • Odd missing gallery picture in search results
  • Errors when uploading more than one tracking number at a time (repeated, erroneous numbers saved)

Updates:

  • FVF on shipping charged on international sales even when there was free domestic shipping - discovery work on this issue is ongoing
  • View Order Details page showing erroneous currency conversion - confirmed as resolved.
  • Selling limits live items count discrepancy - We are investigating further.
  • Missing Tracked Packet destinationsstill no update from PayPal and Pitney Bowes
  • Combined shipping offers not shown to international buyers - ticket open

If anything is missing, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: June 8th 2016 Weekly Session

The only way you can click on items that were already migrated is if you change the view option to "Moved to eBay.com" or "Converted to CAD". This screen shot doesn't show me what view you are on but based on the Sold listing having the checkbox available, I think you're on "All". This is normal behaviour.

And that is not in the instructions.

Sheesh.

Re: June 8th 2016 Weekly Session

Thanks Raphael, i sent 500+ other item numbers in one of my previous messages/emails to you if you need those as well.

Will you contact me when this has been resolved, or is there a time frame as to when it might be corrected?

I appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Shelly

When the category changes were made in the 2016 Spring Sellers Update, vintage clothing shoes and accessories changed significantly.  However, these changes are not up-to-date when you choose "Shop by category".  This takes searchers to outdated subcategories as follows:

If I go directly to eBay.ca and try to find that category, the category selections take me to the old categories of:

  1. Home
  2. >
  3. All Categories
  4. >
  5. Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
  6. >
  7. Vintage
  8. >
  9. Women's Vintage Clothing
  10. >
  11. 1965-76 (Mod, Hippie, Disco)  --  and other fashion eras from pre-1901 to 1990s and "other", which would then lead to
  12. Specific items of clothing, which then provide 0 search results.

The same is true for Children's, Men's, Women's Vintage Shoes at the #9 level as above.

It is frustrating to find 0 results in a search, and must turn off any would-be buyers who stumble onto this out-dated search line.

Every single time I load the tool it NEVER shows my exact active listing count. The closest it gets is 6-11 more active listings than I actually have or thousands less. If I refresh it shows maybe 200 active listings. My current active inventory count is hovering at approx. 5000 listings. How am I suppose to get this done with the time frame provided. Is someone at ebay going to sift through 5000 listings and let me know which 6-11 listings are not actually active?

Hi merritt-motorcycle-salvage,

When you refresh, the tool re-pulls your list of non-complaint listings from scratch. Given that you have a large amount of listings, that pull takes time. This isn't due to any issues with the tool, it's a limitation coming from the eBay API which the tool uses to pull your listings. When we first launched the tool, it wold make you wait until the full list was loaded before showing you any listings. Now, it shows you the listings as they are ready, so you can start working right away. If you refresh the web page (not the Refresh function on the tool), you should se your numbers adjust.

With that said, I've added you to my list of tool issues so that the developer can check the database for errors in your items pull and/or processing. I'll let you know whether we find anything.

YoYou have "a developer" working on this? One?...What a joke....

Re: June 8th 2016 Weekly Session

Raphael,

Before the migration began I asked the question whether SMP from .ca has the functionality and can manage listings on both sites. You mentioned that it could and that that functionality wouldn't change and we wouldn't have to use the two different interfaces to manage our listings. As you know, the layout and functionality of .com SM is different than the one on .ca. Bulk relisting is one example of the fact that we now have yo log into the respective sites to relist products. What will you be doing about that?

Last but not least can you make public the following.

1. Statistical data that claims that listing in CDN is now more advantageous for Canadian sellers than in USD. I'm looking for details and how and when the study was done. What data was used, what products were used, etc.

2. Specifically who within Ebay Canada made the final decision to put Canadian sellers through this fiasco? A name would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

I have sent you an email. One last question. About the shipping coupons,. I ship all my packages out of the US but I can't access the button to get the coupon for them from ebay.com

Hi again bunbar,

The US coupon program is not available to Canadian sellers, even if you have a store on eBay.com and ship from the US. You'll need to wait for the Canadian coupon.

Hi lady.stark,

Out of the whole eBay Canada product team, which I am part of, no one remembers Amex ever being accepted on eBay.ca. We could be wrong, but generally we know our site pretty well and we have been working here for many years.

I just looked at your account and all the credit cards I see there were Visa. You had PayPal as a selected payment method a few times, could it be that you had your fees paid on your Amex via your PayPal account?

----------------------------------------------------

If you look at my US $ billing account, you will see my Amex card (not Visa). It was entered on .ca. So no, my Amex was not used via PayPal (it is now for my C $ billing account, because I can't enter my card directly).

Hi lady.stark,

I'm a bit baffled, like I said I don't remember eBay.ca ever having accepted AMEX for seller fees. You seem to have your card on file for your USD billing, I can see that. I can't tell you how come you were allowed to put it in other than you must have entered it on eBay.com. If I'm wrong about that, I'm sorry I don't know what to say.

If I remember correctly, your original questions, weeks ago, was "how come I can't enter my AMEX to pay for my seller fees?" The answer is, because AMEX is not accepted on eBay.ca. As far as I know, only Visa and MC are accepted.

I think I didn't get the attachment. In any case, we weren't able to see any errors (we reviewed your account from the back end). We think, like for most other sellers who were seeing discrepancy in numbers, that the tool was still uploading some of your listings in the background, which to you looked like it was an incomplete list. Would you mind trying again and sending me another email with the results? Thanks!

Hello maggiebvintage2010,

Thanks for flagging this, I've alerted the appropriate team.

For what it's worth, we know that most buyers, actually almost all of them, rarely browse to find items. They usually use keyword search a lot more, which suggests that the # of buyers affected by this should be relatively small, hopefully not enough to disrupt your or anyone's business significantly.
