The USPS is limited by law with respect to how much they can increase the cost of postage each year....
A few years ago USPS proposed a series of high increases in rate.... But they were told.... "NO"..... By law....
The regulatory controls on USPS are different than on Canada Post.

Not easy to compete.
But.....It can be done...
Why compete?... Set your own standard and make it work for you.
Create a unique experience on eBay.
and in many instances.... it depends on what a Canadian seller chooses to sell

You can certainly say that again. In fact, there are NO regulatory controls on Canada Post.
In what other country would the postal service be allowed to announce - after parliament has risen for the Christmas holiday - that the price of a domestic stamp will increase by 59% and that doorstep mail delivery will be eliminated in 5 years' time?
Only in Canada....

That will have an impact on sellers of CDs and DVDs. Less on booksellers.
Magazines and catalogues 'can't' be sent media mail because they contain advertisements.
What else is covered by Media Mail?
My wish list includes cheap tracking on any online purchased shipping label. If it already has a barcode, even if the barcode does not track, putting a scanner on the mail truck for Confirmation of Delivery will give the few remaining posties something to do at the community mailbox.
Besides removing all the garbage dropped by the recipients.

According to that link, tracking was .23. If the 2.3% increase is added to the before tracking rate they will be paying less with tracking than they are now.

It was recently noted on .com... that the ruling with respect to advertising in a magazine applies whether the magazine was recently published or published years or decades ago..... No exemption...
eBay's maximum for shipping books... media on .com is based on the cost of shipping a book via Media Mail....
The maximum does not apply if the shipping calculator is used....

Which means that Canadians who don't want to be restricted to the $4.00USD cap on Flat Rate Shipping, should be listing on dotCA where we can use Flat Rate shipping , 'Free' shipping, or Calculated shipping depending on the dimensions, weight, value and procurement cost of our 'media ' items.

And...
That is why all of my listings were moved from eBay.com to eBay.ca when that $4.00 cap became a reality.
When I look back over the past few years.... one has to understand that it is much easier to work my listings on eBay.ca.....
With respect to .... Postage, and other revisions undertaken on a regular basis... Bulk revisions....
