Because... Harper will pull a "Mulroney" and announce his retirement like Mulroney did back in 1993 when his popularity was down to about 21%. Facing a certain electoral defeat, he found it easier to resign and let someone else (Kim Campbell) lose the election.

I can't find anything in the news about a video on Facebook, but there is about a video on YouTube (which has been removed). The one you saw might have been taken off YouTube and put on a Facebook account. The bottom line is, the video was a satire done by a comedian.

When I read the article I was going to say the rats were jumping ship but............in reality it seems a lot of good people have been let down by Ford (not to mention all of Toronto) and they are leaving because they actually have a conscience.
The thing about all these insiders leaving is interesting because they know things and hear things that the general population do not.
It's a shame we lost John Candy and Chris Farley.......they could have played Ford in a true Canadian movie!

Ford is not going to step down.
If anyone wonders later why nothing got done at Toronto city hall this summer they can blame it on the Toronto Star.
You're right Ford would not step down......not only is his ego too big but ........it would give a possible presumption of guilt.
As for the Toronto Star.....well it's not their fault from my perspective. They did what media does....inform the public. At that point it's up to the politician to speak to the allegations (which Ford avoided)....or prove they are false (which he hasn't). Fords lack of response to the allegations is troubling at best. Then there is the photo with two men, one of whom is now dead and both were drug dealers.......and not just a casual hello photo taken on the street by two admirers but a photo of Ford in 'very casual' clothes with his arms around the men and looking unfortunately like he is partying with them.
I read that. But I found it interesting because........later he said there was no video......but before he told his staff where it was. Do you see a problem here?

Well the article I read (and there are soooo many).........and I don't think it was the Star (lots of media have been on this), it was a staff member who told the media.
To me this situation is very simple. As a mayor and a person, if he was accused of something that he has not done...... then all he had to say was "bring on the video"! But he didn't. He said nothing. He avoided the media. Staff who know him intimately have either quit or been fired. All of these are not the actions of a man who is innocent....especially boisterous in-you-face Rob Ford. They are more the actions of a man who was caught......or felt he was......so he was playing for time to figure out what to do, neither admitting to it openly, or not admitting to it. Then the cops got into it because Ford has a photo with a man who was murdered and another who was wounded. But the staff had to go because some of them knew a lot and some, knew too much! JMPO
