Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out a way to get around these stupid UPS charges that I have to pay when I get my wholesale items from that States. The people I buy from insist on shipping UPS, despite my pleading. Only reason I'm staying is because I can get a pretty decent profit margin. But I do know that there are some companies that can give you a US address to ship to, and then will ship it to you by USPS? I thought that ChitChat's Express does a service like this, but I can't find any info on the website.
Could anybody point me in the direction I should be looking? It is greatly appreciated 😄

As far as I know ChitChat does not offer this service, they only offer return service for their existing shipping customers.
This is what you can do:
1) call CBSA and inquire about possibility to declare your own shipment and prepay taxes and duties.
2) call UPS while shipment is in progress and tell them you will be clearing it yourself. In theory they should request your permission to clear it for you but they do it automatically.
Second option, use UPS Store 2194 in Niagara Falls, Military Rd. Call them and ask how they can help you. Then drive it yourself through trucks entry, they will tell you what to do, have your receipts ready.

Oh, I thought they did. I guess I was confused.
Would any UPS Store do this? Or is it only the one in Niagara Falls because it is near the border?

Does anybody know of any companies that are able to do what was stated in the original post?

You would have to contact Chitchat to ask if they offer this.
It's not something that they advertise on their website.
As a customer of Chitchat, I am able to have USPS mailing supplies send to their address in the US and they bring it across the border for me to pick up from their Markham location.
You would have to give them the approx weight, amount of packages and the total cost so that they can tell you if it's something that they can do for you.

At most border crossings theirs several usa/canada mail receiving businesses. Pickup self broker, others have second location on canadian side where they provide door to door service usa to canada... single item to truckload.

Stop buying from sellers that will only ship via UPS.

How many of these shipments do you get? Driving to Niagara Falls isn't free and the QEW sucks.
If you open an account with UPS you can avoid the disbursement and COD portion of the fees.
If you have an account and any regular volume you can negotiate a lower rate for the brokerage fees.
You are not required to use UPS as your broker, if they won't cut you a deal use a different broker. There are plenty of them out there, it's a very competitive business.
You may be able to have your shipments transferred in bond to Mississauga/Toronto and there you can self-clear if you like.

there are lots of places that will do what you want, just google "USa package fowarding to Canada" eg http://www.reship.com/ (never used them)
Not sure it will save much when you have to pay them and pay for item to be mailed again. you can even pay extra for "invoice removal"
