Philatelic question

I have a large envelope of these cancels.  Can't remember the name of this type of cancel - help.

Are they collectible?

They are collectible - but if they are all Aylmer West you are going to have a hard time finding a lot of collectors that want Aylmer West covers with a fairly modern cancel.

in a discussion about modern cancels at stampcommunity.org, http://www.stampcommunity.org/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5809, there is a reply from a former postal clerk indicating that the type of cancel you illustrated came from  rubber stamp, and was about the size of a 50 c coin.

The cancel that I have shown is different from the ones in the link you supplied.

I have a large envelope with several hundred cancels - all from a variety of Ontario small towns.

There is a name for the cancel, but I cannot remember it.

The name is what I am looking for.

If you mean the type I believe they are called Klusendorf cancels.

Yes collectable...but generally not worth much and it is hard to find a buyer.
