Shipping rates showing up to buyers as the most expensive option instead of cheaper options??!!

Hi everyone, so an issue I am having at the moment that is probally going to decrease sales is the following: When I go to my ads it is always showing the most expensive shipping options for buyers, for example : I live in Canada and if I am selling internationally I offer two shipping methods ( Canada Post small packets International, and Canada Post Tracked packets international) usually small packets will cost around $10-20 for international shipping, and Tracked Packets international usually costs alot more around $40-60. Most buyers are definetly not going to want to spend the $40-60 on tracked packets since my item is only worth $20-$30 but I do want to at least be able to offer that service to give buyers the option to receive quicker.

The issue I have is that right when they click on my item under the shipping the price that it shows them is the pricing for the Tracked Packets ($40-60) instead of the lower shipping cost pricing ( Small Packets International $10-20 ) I think that is really detering buyers from purchasing my items.

If anyone has experienced this or knows how I can make it show the lowest shipping price available please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much everyone.

They are supposed to show up in the order entered with the first one being the one buyers see at the top of the page.

Now I see it's ok on the listing page but in Search results it shows the highest. I remember other posts with a similar situation but I don't remember the solution.

Personally for the example you gave I'd just eliminate the pointless tracked package option.

I highly doubt there is any delivery speed difference between Small Packet and Tracked Packet. The only buyer that would choose it would certainly expect it to be faster so they will likely be disappointed that they paid so much extra and it still took a  couple of weeks.

The tracking is for your benefit, preventing scammers from winning phoney Item Not Recieved disputes.

I agree, just don't use it. It gives your buyer higher costs for no benefit.

You can and probably should self-insure against claims by adding a few pennies to all your listings and using those pennies to pay any claims.

How many pennies depends on the nature of your customers. Are they calm and careful buyers or are they entitled jerks who want it yesterday?

As recped said the first one listed is the one that will show up on the search page and first on the listing. You have tracked packet listed first. I have to agree that it is unlikely that people are going to want to pay more just for a tracking number. I do see a higher price in both search results and on the listing page.

But the odd thing is that on .com. when I show the U.S. as a location, search shows a shipping price of U.S.$15.03 and the listing shows a price of U.S. $14.89. I don't understand why the two prices are different.

On your Canadian shipping you are offering both regular parcel and expedited parcel and you have regular parcel first which is more expensive than expedited. Why offer regular at all since expedited is supposed to be a day or two faster than regular and it costs less?

I took someone's advice and went for 'free shipping" and just tacked a little extra on my listings. My 'hassle meter' went down from 10 to 1...no hassle in messages, no hassle in writing listings ,  no hassle in shipping costs, no hassle with combined shipping, no hassle at the post office...best thing I ever did.
