I have a buyer who won 2 of my auctions. It stated that I would only ship to the USA and Canada. It also spelled out in the description that I will not send the item internationally because of the outrageous shipping costs.
I didn't give any shipping costs other than Canada and the US.
Now they are asking for it to be shipped to China, even though they are registered as USA ebayer, which I why I suppose ebay let them bid as they were not restricted.
I don't want to ship to China or anywhere out of North American right now because of all the paperwork.
What would you do?

International 'paperwork' consists of filling out a customs form which takes just a few minutes or if you use Paypal shipping, the custom info is already filled in for you.
But....Many of the items that you have sold recently are expensive so I think that you are smart to limit yourself to shipping to the U.S. and Canada...at least for now.
Just tell the buyer that you are sorry but that you don't ship overseas. If they then want you to ship to a U.S. address, it has to be the same address that shows on their Paypal payment, otherwise you won't be covered by Paypal if there happens to be a problem. If an item is over $250, the package needs to have a signature as well so if it was going to the U.S., you would need to use Xpresspost.
Also make sure that in your preferences you have the box checked off that says 'Buyers in locations to which I don't ship '
To do that go to Accounts, Site preferences, Buyer Requirements, Show Edit
That setting might not have helped in this situation since the buyer was registered in the U.S. but you have to check that off to actually block buyers from other countries.

I noticed that you have a violation in your listings as you are not allowed to charge extra for insurance. You can include the price of insurance in your shipping cost but you can't add it on.
Insurance benefits the seller, not the buyer as the seller is responsible for that item until the buyer receives it in good condition. On ebay there's no such thing as shipping an item at the "buyers" risk.

I've never understood how to add the insurance as part of the shipping costs as this based on the value at the auction end? I've looked everywhere, but can't find it. Any suggestions?
