When Can Buyer's Leave Feedback

I have a question...

I have buyers that have not paid for their item for over a month now dispite e-mails and NPB reminders. I wish to get my FVF back and put a strike on these people. My question is this... can a buyer leave feedback after he has be striked? I do not wish to have negative feedback from these people as I expect they would after getting a bid strike. Has anybody had to deal with this problem in the past?

Thanks for the help.

Although a buyer can leave feedback after an Unpaid Item Dispute is filed I have never received a neg for filing a UID and I've done dozens of them.

I have already filed the UID but I want to close these disputes and give the buyers the strikes. Has anyone ever given anyone a strike? I am not familiar with them at all.

Hi, Steve:

As you close the disputes and select the option that you no longer want to communicate with the buyers and want your FVF refunded, a strike will be placed on the buyer's account.

If the buyers do pay you after this (it happens) you can have the strike removed from their account and you will be re-charged the FVF.

Steve, if you're referring to negative feedback, yes they can give feedback even after you've filed against them. I've given negs twice in cases like that and been lucky - they haven't negged me back, but I don't do it anymore. They can have loads of negatives and still keep buying, but after you've completed the FVF process, eBay puts a "strike" against them -- and it's 3 of those strikes and you're out!

So filing your FVF (UID) is the important part - many of us don't bother with the negative feedback anymore because it's virtually worthless against a buyer but it can really hurt a seller.

I've given about 300 negative feedbacks and received about 10 retaliations.

I've filed about 500 "Unpaid Item Disputes" and never received a retalitation feedback because of them. Mostly they just cause the buyer to pay.

I've filed about 300 strikes when buyers never paid, and not received any retaliations because of them that I know of. Mostly it's just from the negative feedback.

That said, the best way to do it is leave negative feedback and then within minutes file the strike to get your fees back. Ebay recently changed to a new policy where the buyer's account is closed the very second they receive the third strike. Therefore, leave your negative and then file the strike immediately. If this is their third, they will be shut down, and won't even be able to resond to your negative.

The reason I say to leave a negative first is because after they're shut down, you can't leave a negative. If they end up not being shut down, your negative serves to warn others. Also, eBay closes some accounts manually when they see negative feedbacks, even if the buyer only has 1 or 2 strikes against them.

My only negative came as a result of filing for FVC - I had not posted a negative, but buyer negged me anyway because they got a strike.

unfortunately there a lot of people who retaliate and give negative feedback if you give negative feedback. Ebay should not allow a non paying bidder to be able to leave feedback but they can. ebay should also have some type of system that the computer recognizes "bad" language or name calling and not allow the comment to go through. It should just be factual...ebay has the system that pops up asking you if you want to leave this comment so they should have a pop up to let the person also know they cant leave that kind of word in their feedback. Even if your in "the right" and just following ebay policy, letting others know to beware of this buyer, they can give you a negative just in spite. So sometimes, you may want to not leav feedback at all!
