Called Paypal asking for explanation. They didn't know why. BUT Supposelly charged me twice. (over $1000 was charged from this transaction).

The key word in all that is likely "Future Shop, home of the "bait and switch" advertising scams.
You likely got nearly taken by someone using a hidden reader. Lots of scams like that going on right now.
