Why is private feedback even allowed on ebay?

I am just wondering why private feedback is still allowed on ebay. Everybody is pretty well hidden by the way ebay has worked it out that I find there is no need for that. I get that maybe it could be adult items purchased but if older than a month, nobody has access to them.

I have two bidders with private feedback and not sure if I should cancel their bids or not. We have no way at all of knowing who we are dealing with. What  feedback they leave and what is said about them but seeing they are buyers feedback would be 100% anyways.

I had a bad experience with somebody with private feedback about a year ago and not too keen on dealing with anybody that hides their feedback. Any suggestions?

I am always suspicious of private feedback too, especially since buyer IDs are masked when they are bidding.

I don't like dealing with paranoid people.

It is very easy to keep an eBay account private. Just don't tell anyone among your family, friends or professional colleagues that you have an account.

You should be aware that sellers cannot have private feedback.

 Does it really matter? As sellers we can no longer give negative feedback either way. All their feedback would be positive anyhow. I think some have feedback set as private so you can't see the listings they are purchasing. Some is due to competition with other buyers. (other buyers following them to see who they are purchasing from etc) some are buying adult items that they don't want others to see. There are lots of reasons for private feedback and most often I don't think it's for any bad reason. I sometimes list with private feedback for my buyers.
