charged American currency!?!?

I do not understand how come I was charged in American currency when both the seller and I are in Canada.

Canadians are allowed to list in either US or Can dollars. If it was listed in US dollars, that is what you pay in unless other arrangements are made with the seller

Most sales by Canadian sellers go to other countries and U.S. dollars are a more standard international currency. Many Canadian sellers list in U.S. dollars.

If you are logged into eBay.ca you will see the equivalent Canadian prices.  If logged into eBay.com the U.S. prices will be displayed.
