do i have to wait till my estimated delivery time to open a claim? i thought we had 45 days from dat

i bought 2 items from 1 seller on Jan 17th and i still have not received them. my estimated delivery dates is Feb 18 to March 9th.  do i have to wait til March 9h to start a claim, if it doesn't come in by then? thanks.

Open a case on March 9 absolutely. I don't think you can open a case before that date.

Back in November i bought a couple items that had "extended" estimated shipping times. Basically 3+ weeks for a delivery from Toronto to Ottawa. (2-3 days regular mail usually)  I was not able to open a case untill ebay's estimated date had passed.

Myself and others were caught in the seller's scam. I was refunded immediately and according to feedback left on seller's

account many others were refunded as well.

I think you can start the claim sooner if the seller is no longer registered, but you may have to contact eBay by telephone in order to do this.

Somebody who's not as "rusty" as I am may be able to give more accurate and complete information on this.

You usually aren't able to open a case on eBay until the day after the estimated delivery date but you can try to do it now. You can open a case on Paypal anytime.

Thanks everyone. i did realize they changed when we can make a claim, (having to wait till the end of estimated delivery) i guess its been a while since i had to do the last one. it used to be 45 days from when we buy something, not sure if that is still the same for paypal.

PayPal has 180 days not to file a claim now.

As poco mentioned you have 180 days after payment to file on Paypal. On eBay you have up until 30 days after the latest estimated delivery date if there is no tracking. If there is tracking and you file a not as described case, you have up to 30 days after the actual delivery date to file on eBay.

I got both items today, thank goodness. My daughter was happy, she has been going to the mail box everyday for a month.

Yes it is, and with a timeline that long buyers can comfortably wait for bulky items from overseas being sent 

by "Surface" mail which can take close to 3 months.  Paypal provides nearly 6 months for a claim.  Lots of time.
