I was just trying to buy a replacement part for my phone and did the following search.
from ebay.ca
search for SGH-i717
go to cellphones replacement parts and tools
sort lowest to highest price (including shipping)
scroll down and look for US seller selling item
samsung galaxy not charging port for $14.63
With both Mozilla Firefox and Chrome, the item on the search page shows FREE SHIPPING to me under the price.
But when I click on it, it's the loved GSP with Shipping: US $13.93
What gives?

There is an obvious problem here in the search result page with Free Shipping (not to Canada).
However, this item does not offer GSP.
The shipping charge ($23.99) is for first class international directly from the seller and has nothing to do with GSP.

That was eBay item number: 200957384819

Now, if you look at eBay item number: 221248453964
You will find
US $13.93 (approx. C $14.56)
Import charges: US $0.00
Now, once again, if you use "List View" each listing subject to GSP clearly show:
Customs services and international tracking provided
The key here is to always use LIST VIEW to quickly identify listings requiring GSP.

c'mon pierre.really?
The key? The key is if you sort by price lowest including shipping..........it should show.............price.......lowest.....including....shipping.
PERIOD.
My mistake thinking it was GSP, but still, if it says FREE shipping in the listing, then it should be FREE shipping. If not, it's either underhanded or a programming mistake.
You can't be an apologizer for this and you can't suggest a 'differen't' way to sort.
If ebay has a listing method that is supposed to show price + shipping as the lowest, then it should NOT be saying something is free when it isn't.

"You can't be an apologizer for this"
???
Who is apologizing for eBay's mistake?
As stated in my first post, "free shipping" is a mistake when viewed on eBay.ca. Somehow eBay is carrying the shipping information from eBay.com
As far as finding which items carry GSP, eBay is NOT offering the information in search results unless a viewer uses the "list view".
It has nothing to do with apologizing for eBay. Just trying to help those readers who want to know how to easily find which items carry GSP without having to click on each listing to find out.
If you are not interested, just ignore the advise.

KEY - a vital, crucial element.
a. something that gives an explanation or identification or provides a solution
Apologist - A person who argues in defense or justification of something, such as a doctrine, policy, or institution.
You were being an apologist of ebay by deflecting the issue by suggesting the search was not correct that the KEY was to use the list view. A work around that did not take into consideration the point.
It doesn't matter if there is a work around. My work around was clicking on it, just to find out there is shipping charged. Did that make it better?

Excuse me, but when you post here you are asking ebayers for their advice......and you got it from Pierre even, who is our GURU when it comes to advice/problems. He's always here to help us.

An apologist would try to justify the shipping glitch as being something beneficial to buyers using "search". Offering a workaround is an offer of assistance, not a justification of the glitch.
