When was the item sent?

You do have up to 45 days to start a claim for an item not received, so there should be no real worry.

Just forget about it till it's been a month with nothing showing up.

So I'm given a tracking number but no where to track it.  I don't like this, I don't like this one bit.

You can usually use the original tracking number with CP. Whenever I order stuff after it hits customs once released to cp you can track it on the cp site.
