I received a defective item, so i initiated a "not as pictured/described" return. The seller accepted the return and sent a return label.
I printed the label and shipped it. I noticed today that i had to update the "mark as shipped" status on the return, so i did.
The tracking number was there, but greyed-out. I clicked "ok" and now it's marked shipped back.
But there's a problem: the tracking number is wrong (it has trailing zeroes). I think this is an issue with CP labels that are scanned. I can't change this number.
Therefore, my return will never be scanned as delivered i will likely not get my refund.
Can the seller fix this? If i contact him to fix it, and it's never fixed, what is my recourse so i can prove that my item was sent back? Will i just have to call ebay?
