A wrong is a wrong, once one realizes

Buyer complains that my Caribbean mixture of stamps has countries like Nicaragua, Haiti etc in it and not just British countries.

I, like us all was quite frustrated, it says Caribbean in the title and it has lots of pictures showing many of the stamps, including lots of non British colonies. I patiently explained that they were actually also Caribbean countries and offered a partial refund.

He was quite good about it, the partial refund worked out, and he was happy.

Of course I'm still frustrated, unsure what else I could do to avoid this!

It was when I went to relist the next one that I discovered one of the categories I had it listed in was "British Colony and Territories - collections and lots".

OOOPS.

A great example of a situation where it isn't always the customer's fault that these "not as described"'s happen.....

Re-list and sell similar are not always my friends. I have had questions based on contradictory info in item specifics and description.

Yep questions are great so one can fix it!

I recently had someone I think on purpose buy something (a different lot from the one I mentioned above) that had a mismatch between the title and the item on the expectation that they would be able to get a partial refund, which they did.

Just a cost of doing business, as my wife likes to remind me (a bit too frequently I might add) I'm not perfect....

Last two times I got the question, I cut them some slack on the price and got instant sales.

Hey, wait a minute!

Are you two guys acting like grown-ups and taking responsibility for your mistakes!!

No, no, no, no.

The eBay way is to come to the Boards and moan and **bleep** about how evil and entitled the other guy is and how eBay is trying to put you out of business.

You.

Personally.

The whole system is set up to mess you over.

Personally.

Get a grip, fellas.

If you've got the whine, I have the cheese.
