Canada Post strike aside, have there been any problems reported with sending letters to the US? Can i just put a stamp on it and mail it or are there additional hoops that i have to jump through? I want to send a friend a birthday card.

Nope, no problem for that. Processing may be a bit slower but things are moving.

As long as it's truly just a letter and contains no obvious goods/merchandise, there shouldn't be any delays. You're good to go with a stamp.

I've sent a few letters since Aug 29 (although not very recently during the strike).
Stuff's arriving, no problem. If it's just a card, it will be fine.
