I am going to be away for a week so need to deal with my current listings. As I don't have a store I think about the only option I have is to end the listings then relist them all later. This is not hard as I can select them all and do it with a click, same for relisting.
My understanding is a store is required if you want to use a vacation setting. I just wonderd if I am incorrect or missing another option.
I am actually looking forward to taking a break for a week. It is not that the volume is very big right now, but just mentally decoupling for a while is good.

There is an option called Time Away which hides listings. Like old Store Vacation. But available to all sellers. Store or non-store. I never tried it but read about it here in the forum.
Update. I can't find in help file that it is available for non store. Maybe I am wrong.

Change your listing policies so that your handling time is extended to cover the period you're away. So if you're gone for a week, maybe do 10 day handling time. When someone buys your item, theoretically they will see that it might not ship for 10 days.
Since you cannot use the vacation setting, you could use the mass listing editor to add a note to your listing stating that you will be away the week of x and all orders placed at that time will be fulfilled by. People don't read listings, but at least it gives you something to point to if anybody complains.
When you eventually get around to shipping the items, it would be a good idea to send a friendly message to the buyers that lets them know their item has shipped. You could give them a professional sounding reminder of your delayed handling time that was stated in the listing.
This is assuming the goal is to not check your app during your time off, so that you can enjoy your vacation.
There is no guarantee that you won't get someone unreasonable. Most people are easy going, but unreasonable people do exist. But overall, it shouldn't be too difficult to extend your handling time and communicate with customers why their item was delayed.
If the above sounds like too much trouble, you could always end your listings for a week manually, and then re-list them when you get back.

Thanks, definately an option. For this week though I don't think I will do that as I want a good mental break and not be concerned about folks.

Thanks, this is super, I had no idea about Time Away. I will check it out to see how it works.

@richardcm I followed your link, then clicked on the blue box with "Go To Time Away Settings" and set it up without a problem. It should go into effect at midnight tonight. I also do not have a store, so this is available to everyone.
There was an option to not allow any sales, which I took.
There was also an option to allow sales, for which it indicates
- buyers will see a message at the top of your listings letting them know that you are on time away
- tThe estimated delivery date will also be automatically updated in the Shipping and Delivery section of your listings, so you don't need to make any manual changes.
So this would essentially achieve the option that @ilikehockeyjerseys laid out but without needing to extend handling times and then adjusting it back.
Great stuff to learn about, thanks. Good feature that Ebay has available here.

Re: Time Away
If you are able to set to turn back on 24 hours before your return it might be helpful. There can be a bit of "lag time" before things re-populate to ebay with that function. I've never tried. I just know when I've been in the middle of updating listings with item specifics my total listings can fluctuate before they get back to the correct number. (Not sure if you have extra handling time built into your listings.) Like many features built into eBay I've always referred to them as "Tape Delay".

Time Away IS the old Vacation Setting that was available for Store subscribers but available to all. Although they changed the wording slightly it is exactly the same.
As far as the lag when you turn it off, it usually doesn't take very long, I just had all my selling id's on Time Away (with listings hidden) and reactivated them Friday night.
2 minutes after turning Time Away off I had a few listings back, by 10 minutes most of them were back and by 20 minutes they were all back.

Apologies for my unnecessary post. I wasn't looking closely enough at the URL that @richardcm provided and focussing too much on the search string spew after it.

Good to know that's been fixed. I know that was something that has been observed in the past.

I didn't actually have to wait until midnight, it went into affect right away, which was great. I was thrown off as in the Seller's Hub the listings are all showing as active, but if you look at my listings, they are not showing.
There is one odd thing is that 1 of 140 or so listings is still showing 😎 If someone would be kind enough to verify that for me I would appreciate it.

Ok, not items for sale. That 1 item has now dissapeared to. Excellent function.
Just to mention, that there is also an option to automate email responses with your own text. I have some shipments on the way and going in the morning, so I won't use the automoted option.

Just a follow-up that all items came back on line as scheduled.
