GTC-- How long are listings?

I've been happily using GTC listings for some years, but I was still happy for others when eBay assured us that the relists (and fees) would be monthly not every 30 days which was a huge concern for those who object to paying anything for taking up space on eBay's browser farms.

But I was reviewing my listings for duplications and deadstock, which I do from time to time, by putting the Active Listings into alphabetical  order and allowing duplicates to show sitting side by side, when I noticed something odd about "Time Left".

The longest time left was 37d 17h 13m,   on a listing that my Note tells me was uploaded on the fourth of May*.

What month has 37 days?  Does this have something to do with the recent Total Eclipse of the Sun?

*No not a Star Wars item.

Re: GTC-- How long are listings?

July is the conversion month -- ebay is using the original listing date as the monthly renewal date going forward -- so you will see a longer month for some listings.  I guess eBay figured people would seriously annoyed if the conversions had a short month, so they went long instead.

Re: GTC-- How long are listings?

I noticed GTC listing time are calculated 1 hour per day time, that show for the first listing day 29d23h left and the next day 29d22h left **bleep** is that set up?

You must Keep an eye on your start time listing date to avoid the auto relist item fees

just saying.

No. You keep your eye on the ending time.

In the Seller Hub sort your active listings using the Time Left column to see what is ending next and use the bulk edit feature to end the BIN listings that you do not want to renew.

sort by ending time, soonest firstsort by ending time, soonest first

Hi @femmefan1946 - sorry that I missed this while I was out last week.

This is due to the shift in the way GTC listings are renewed announced earlier this year (link here).

Essentially, this month and next month will look a bit wonky as things shift to monthly renewals. This means that there's potentially a chance for listings to last longer or shorter than their regular 30 days based upon their renewal date and the day it was originally listed (there's a weird amount of math involved as I found out). Once we're over this transition hump, it will be back to business as ususal.

If you run into any situations where you're seeing a large number of items with fewer than 30 days until renewal in August you can contact CS so they can review.
