Question about package reshipping services

Hello!
I am a new seller on ebay and I have recently sold my first item. I shipped the item to the address provided by ebay using ebay's shipping label service, and tracking has confirmed that the item has been delivered. I now notice that the place it was delivered to is a Meest package reshipping service in the US. The buyers PayPal says he is not located in the US, so I assume this service is going to now post his package to his address for him.

I am wondering if since it is now delivered, am I still liable for the packages arrival and condition? It seems unfair that if they lose the package now I would have to refund the buyer, or if it is damaged by them I would have to refund as well. Is there any documentation or policies that protect the seller in an instance like this? The item was over 500 dollars so naturally as my first sell I'm wary of getting scammed, etc.

Any help anyone can provide would be great!

Thanks

You're only liable for getting it to the destination on your PayPal payment info (the re-shipper) so I'd think you are good now!

Question about package reshipping services

Your responsibility for delivery ended at the reshipper's receiving dock.

Your responsibility for damage in shipping ended at the same time-- basically because your contractor (Canada Post) delivered securely to the address you were given.

Your responsibility for Not As Described is  questionable, but as a practical matter, you are allowed to demand that any item be returned before refunding.

You can have a No Returns policy, but you cannot have a No Refunds policy.

Even if your policy is No Refunds, you are still allowed to demand that the item be returned before refunding.

You might have to send a Return Shipping Label to the address you were given.

It is the buyer's responsibility to get the unwanted item back to the reshipper and persuade them to keep track of the RSL  and return the package, before the Claim deadline runs out.

Which is not going to happen.

EBay wants sellers to ship internationally, and protects Sellers who do so.

There was previously terms that states a buyer waived rights to SNAD and INR claims by using shipping forwarding. I don't know where it is.

But that may have changed and eBay does backpeddle some directives.

Those specific terms were in the full details of the MoneyBack Guarantee; I have it bookmarked somewhere.

It is paypal you need to worry about in this situation. They still cover the buyer end to end in the case of damage/SNAD. I've had a few cases like this and had to get paypal to cover me on appeal, at their discretion.

PP does insist that the buyer pay return shipping. So there's that.
