Sell for $1 (five listings) promo for this weekend

I assume this is invite only, but here is the link if people want to try.

It's a promo for free insertion fees for five listings, and if they sell within 30 days, the FVF is capped at $1. Deadline to activate and list is July 29 8:59pm PST.

For this recent promotion I listed the 5 items. Now when I check on the completed offer, it displays the 5 listings the offer should have been applied to. When I check those listing number, nothing displays.

To see your item you have to manually enter:

www.ebay.ca/itm/item-number-goes-here

For example, one of mine: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/323371577484

...

It would be nice if you could do it directly from the promotional view-item-ids page.

General comments:

If you can't see the offer in the Selling promotions section, click on the View expired promotions, then find the promotion and click on the number used (it is a link) to see which listing ID numbers have that promo.

Most FVF savings offers (unlike "free" listings)  don't really expire until your last listing made during the offer period is ended (max of 30 days for BIN or 10 days for auctions).

I believe what may have happened was at some point I was checking an expired offer for June. When you check those items the listing appears to be unavailable to view.  May be something that has been also recently discontinued by eBay. Agreed. It would be nice if they did display from the promotional view page. Seems a number of new processes are multi-step. Thanks for checking.

I listed an item for $700, savings of $85 in fees.  Let's see if ebay keeps their word and charges me the buck.

Does anyone know if this offer will continue?  Anyone got a link?

Easy enough to see: if an eligible item sold, go to My eBay > Account > Fees

...

This rare style of promo has popped up several times in the past year.

Check the Selling Promotions section (at the bottom) on

https://www.ebay.ca/mys/overview?

to see what's on offer for you (or check the forums for promo messages).

As expected, Ebay figures out a way to not give exactly what they promised.

Ebay charged me the final value fee TWICE on that $700 auction.  Once for the final value of the item, again for the $20 in shipping.

So you got charged $1 on the sale and $1 on the shipping?

Free domestic shipping would have saved you that extra dollar in fees.

Your expectation and ebay's wording are different:

the final value fee will be $1 per item sold (excluding taxes and shipping).

ebay could redo the title to make it more obvious:

$1 final value fee on up to 5 items (shipping excluded) and no insertion fee.

instead of:   $1 final value fee on up to 5 items and no insertion fee.

Or they could just do what the offer said.

Are you really getting upset over eBay's poor wording, when you already saved $80+?

PS. I haven't sold anything with their $1 FVF offer yet.

Or you could have bothered to read the details that spell out the offer.

If you don't have free domestic shipping you have 2 final value fees, not one FVF per sold listing.

ebay could have included a practical example for those who have problems figuring out fine print logic.

I'm confused. I wasn't invited to this promo but I was the preceding two that were similar. Does this make sense to you?

What is this? That looks like the regular FVF I would pay with no promo pricing assignedWhat is this? That looks like the regular FVF I would pay with no promo pricing assignedOne of the recent promos was about five per cent FVF, right? One of the recent promos was about five per cent FVF, right?

Assuming your sales tax rate is 5%, that looks like a FVF of around  7.32% on that listing.

Making it a 20% off FVF promo (9.15% FVF store category)

Sell for $1 (five listings) promo for this weekend

Hi,

I receive this promo last week and activate it on my ebay.ca after I put 5 objects on sell and ebay take 0,34$ for each. And after midnight the promo disapear.
I wrote an email to ebay, they answear : the promo has to be activated in your account. I send them I screenshot that I had, but as I m using an ipad it was only the date and time of the promo saying that is active but not the hole page.
I reply saying how can i activate it in another account ? I have only one account and I put the objects in the same account and no answear from them.
And there's no way to contact them. The phone icone is not working on the website. So i dont know what to do. The problem I put items that I cannot sell with regular ebay fees !

@silvercoin2011

You should be able to see the promo if you click on expired promos which is probably at the bottom of your current ones.   The promo disappeared because you can no longer add listings to it but if any of those items sell in 30 days, you'll be charged the discounted fee.
