Shipping overseas

With four exceptions, I am happy to ship overseas and have been for years.

But today I was told by a Turkish customer that they could not buy one of my books.

I checked and my Selling Form does accept world wide buyers.

I prefer to use Canada Post, even at this time, but I have added FedEX(spit spit spit) International Economy .

What else might I try?

Hi.

Is it possible Turkey may have become excluded in your buisness policy or country exclusion list?

Today I rec'd an order from Germany and had no problems printing a Canada Post TP Int label.

(250 grams) Just a thought.

Unfortunately when eBay added UPS/Fedex to eBay labels in Canada a very limited selection of services were included. From personal testing what is available country to country can vary. I did find Fedex Ground an option for a few places(testing a few weeks ago. Unsure if it has been corrected). If ground still is available might have to include water wings if you used that service.

Using ebay calculator tool

Test for Germany 500 gram package

Fedex Intl Economy. 101.60

UPS - No options showing

Test for UK 500 gram package

Fedex Intl Economy 101.60

UPS - No options showing

By using the shipping calculator, you acknowledge that eBay is making no representations or guarantees regarding actual fee and sales amounts and that the results are estimates only.

Testing from a sold listing for Italy only option is CP.

Testing using calculator Fedex Intl Economy shows as an option.

In retesting the calculator tool on dot com (just now USA to Intl) Fedex and UPS appear to have been removed. It's possible discounts have expired or rates are being renegotiated.

Could it be that this user can’t buy because of something they did rather than something you did? Do you have restrictions on buyers with unpaid item strikes, for example?

Did you check your Blocked Buyer Activity list?

Did this buyer give you any indication of what message they received when they tried to buy?

Which listing is it?

this user can’t buy because of something they did

While this is always a possibility, the category is philately and the item is a book.

Not a likely combination for fraud.

I had a similar problem with an attempt to by a stamp going to Taiwan . Again, no reason to suspect fraud but eBay would not allow purchase.

HAWINS & STAMBAUGH tpb INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE METER STAMP CATALOG illustrated

eBay item number:197157653007

Not a likely fraud. Unless the buyer has a severe case of insomnia.

I don't know why you are bringing up fraud.

It's actually a very simple thing that is wrong with that listing.....You have not specified a shipping charge, without it a buyer in Turkey cannot purchase. The same issue for ALL your listings.

Right, but none of this addresses the user’s purchasing record.

The most I can do is make Worldwide shipping available rather than Destination (which does not include Turkey)
I am obviously looking at the wrong place on the form.

I think the problem is that Xpresspost - International isn't an option for shipping to Turkey.  I changed the shipping location to Liechtenstein on that listing and it showed me the $131 Xpresspost rate just fine.

Canada Post Xpresspost is not available for Turkey.

Alternatives would be International Parcel Air or Tracked Packet International.

Some interesting reading when shipping to Turkey:
