Top Rated icon missing in listing?

Is it just me or the "Top Rated Seller" icon or text is missing in the search listings now ?

Did eBay remove it ? I tried with Chrome and Edge. Not showing on .com either.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

I know that on .com it went away years ago when they replaced it with the TRS Plus badge (for listings that qualify).

Are you sure you still are a TRS? Ebay evaluates us every 20th of the month.

I just lost mine because I failed in GLOBAL (95 sales instead of 100).

Check this link: what it says?

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

My bad, I see TRS little icon next to name, it seem....

But on eBay Canada, I don't see anything showing Top Rated Seller.

Seems they removed it ?

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

@chicweb I don't see it on my listings themselves, and this account is currently top rated for both Canada and USA (hanging onto both by a thread). I DO see it for my listings in the Canadian search results, but not if I search on dot com.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

You see them in searches on ebay.ca with the Top Rated text near your nickname ?

So it might be a local problem then, which is weird, I tried two different browsers.

It doesn't have the text, but it does have a little icon. At least I think it's the top rated icon.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

The badge is irrelevant.

What is important are the perks that go with the badge.

this is the AI overview  so dont' trust it too much

AI Overview

reallynicestamps_0-1753251628198.jpeg

Being an eBay Top Rated Seller comes with several perks, including increased visibility in search results, a Top Rated Plus seal on qualifying listings, and a 10% discount on final value fees. These benefits help attract buyers and boost sales by signaling trust and reliability.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Enhanced Visibility:
  • Top Rated Seller status provides enhanced visibility in eBay's search results.
  • This means your listings are more likely to appear higher in search rankings, making them more visible to potential buyers.
  • This increased visibility can lead to more views and ultimately, more sales.

  • But there are so many sellers on eBay  that I wouldn't put muchstore in this. It's trifling.
  •
Top Rated Plus Seal:
  • Qualifying listings receive the Top Rated Plus seal, which is prominently displayed in search results and on the listing page.

  •
  • This seal signals to buyers that you are a trusted and reliable seller with a strong track record of providing excellent service.
But buyers are mostly unaware of the seal, even fewer know what it means.
Most buyers are buying "from eBay" not from you or from me.

  •
Discount on Final Value Fees:
  • Top Rated Sellers can receive a 10% discount on final value fees for listings that meet certain criteria, such as offering same-day or 1-day handling time and a free 30-day return policy (with some exceptions).
  • This discount can significantly reduce selling costs, especially for sellers with high sales volume.
  • The discount applies to the total amount of the sale, including shipping and tax, but does not apply to the per-order portion of the final value fee.
    This is worthwhile.
  •
Seller Protections:
  • Top Rated Sellers receive exclusive seller protections, such as reimbursement for return shipping label costs on eligible transactions and the removal of negative or neutral feedback, defects, and open cases in service metrics related to falsely claimed "item not as described" returns.
  • Additionally, Top Rated Sellers may be able to deduct up to 50% of the refund to recover the decreased value of the item when issuing a refund for a returned item that was used or damaged by the buyer.

May be worthwhile, although you'd think that if a Top Rated Seller was also a Good Seller, this would not happen very often.

The retail "failed transaction " rate is supposed to be two percent.
If you have more Claims than that, it's time to look into the real problem

On the whole the Top Rated Seller has one and a half useful features out of the four.
And the really important one is that 10% discount on fees.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

I should mention that I have TRS Global status on some of my accounts. The standards are a little different but the discount is the same.
One difference is that we TRS-G sellers don't have the badge show on dotCOM, although we still get the discount.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

I don't think it's irrelevant at all, quite the opposite.

I personally only buy from top rated sellers because it tells me they offer a minimum of service (or at least, there's a higher chance they do).

For sellers, it's a way to stick out of the crowd, specifically in very crowded categories. Marketing is important and we are limited on what we can do on this platform. Every single things are important.

The badge is one of the big perks that we seem to have now lost (due to a bug?) without notice.

Finally, your point about "buyers are buying from ebay not me" is not entirelly accurate. They are buying ON ebay from a seller. Which is different. That's what a lot (most) people understands.

Repeated buyers are a common things for us. We have ads on social medias, we have a website linked to our ebay store, etc, etc. Offer a good product and support and that user is most likely to come back to you in the future.

As a buyer, when I buy from a seller once and they do well, I continue buying from them (even if their prices are higher). This is one thing that  differentiate eBay from Amazon.

Re: Top Rated icon missing in listing?

It's weird, I don't see it at all on your listings on eBay Canada.

But I see it in "gallery" view only

Is this normal? The Top Rated icon only appears in Gallery view in search listings, but not in "list" view.

First noticed this July 20th when I did a few searches -- the search results included a few selles I know have TRS status, but there was no icon beside their usernames.

In my watchlist the icon still did appear alongside TRS usernames.

Does anyone know the reason for this latest "improvement" on ebay.ca?

The first "improvement" some time ago was to replace the words "Top Rated Seller" with an icon.  Unlike the "Top Rated Plus" seal, hovering over the TRS icon does not provide any indication of what the icon means.

Now the latest "improvement" is to remove any indication of TRS status in search results.

There must be a reason for this -- anyone know?
