Zonos declaration expiration?

Hi, for those of you who used Zonos, when submitting the declaration and getting the declaration code, it does say the code needs to be use within 5 days or else a new declaration will need to be submitted. My question is...

Can I submit the Zonos declaration code to my Snap Ship shipment let's say today, print the shipping label, but mail the package two weeks later? The reason is, I have a buyer interested in buying something, they will pay next week, but they don't want me to mail until December as they will be away till then. On the other hand, I will be going away early December, but I can leave the package to a friend who can take it to the post office for me after the buyer returns. So can I prep the package ahead of time, hand it over to a friend to mail for me two weeks later?

Also a question for dino if you happen to see it... when buyers drop off a package to US and when it is scanned at the counter, does it say on your screen that Zonos declaration is complete / expired or anything like that?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Zonos declaration expiration?

I'm using Zonos Prepay app,as you mentioned declaration is good for 5 days.I would assume, that if you are planning to shipp in two weeks, then it will be voided and new declaration should be issued. Its not a problem if  you gave Zero in tariffs, but if you have to pay, than you will loose your money. With Zonos prepay you can issue a declaration anywhere where you have  internet.

When shipping ,it show status as Shipped right away as QR code is scanned and no additional information thereafter.

I have a very positive experience with contacting Zonos with any questions, they reply prompt and very helpful.

Re: Zonos declaration expiration?

As long as the Zonos code is used in the 5 days to create the label, it doesn't matter when the package is actually dropped off at Canada Post. Once the label is created/printed it's no different than any other label.

Literally nothing has changed for package drop-offs at the post office. We get no warning or message regarding Zonos for pre-paid dropoffs. Canada Post's assumption is that if you were able to print the label, then the necessary steps were taken to do so and it's good to go.
