You can set up a chequing account at a bank of your choosing(does not have to be in any way associated with your personal banking) ; many set up an account for eBay use only.
Yes, as folks have pointed out a regular chequing account will work fine. Make sure to go through the whole process and verify the account prior to listing items.
An FYI - register your selling account on the eBay that applies to your Country. If you are a Canadian make sure to register on eBay.ca - Sellers are experiencing problems recieving their monies owed from old accounts that were registered on eBay.com.
Some sellers have set up a dedicated checking account with an online bank.
Some of those have reported problems with Tangerine Bank which seem to be on the bank side rather than on eBay's, although where the problem actually is remains uncertain.
@mainzus...Yes, This is 2023 and YES, eBay requires ALL sellers to have a chequing account for deposit of payouts...
eBay DOES NOT credit a credit card with sales money payouts...
If you ARE Not willing to supply the banking info as per eBay's requirements, and as per the rules & policies...then you don't get your sales monies! You won't get paid!
I have rarely sold on eBay; my last sale was for $30 USD which the buyer promptly paid.
THEN eBay asks me for my bank info!
AS IF THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!
They can credit my credit card which they have on file
This is 2023; NOBODY gets my bank info, wake up!!
I'll probably end up eating the $30 but I have a few reasons NOT to trust eBay; especially some of their sellers with their staged photos, "serviceable condition" stories etc..
...and it has to be fully authenticated via Managed Payments, otherwise, you will NOT get your $$$.
I used my SIN and have never had an issue from day one...
