Procedure or a misunderstanding

Hello everyone,

I am new to ebay as seller. After selling two items, I have been charged with shipping charges where whereas shipping is payable by the buyer. Similarly upon cancellation after a few minutes of purchase by the buyer I have been asked to accept (which I accepted) the cancellation and pay the user by your credit card. which I believe is not fair, if I didn't receive any payment, how come I can make a return payment to the buyer while the payment is with ebay. Anyone can guide if this is the procedure or I am misunderstanding the system.

Thank you in anticipation.

Azhar

Any "shipping" charged the Buyer is paid to the Seller (it's part of the sale).  The Seller then buys the actual shipping -- if bought through eBay the Seller get charged against any unpaid money eBay owes the Seller (or against your credit card/bank account if there is not enough).  Or you can buy the shipping from somewhere else.

You shouldn't have to pay anything via "your credit card"if the cancellation took place soon after the buyer paid for the item. The transaction would be null and void as no money has been transfered as of yet.

If the buyer wanted to cancel after a few days of purchase then eBay would withdrawal the funds back from your chequing account linked to your Managed Payments. If there wasn't enough funds in that account then they would withdrawal the funds from your credit card you have on file.
