Beyond Frustrated

So I bought a camera lens off a seller, and paid in full right away. Got a notification the next day saying it had shipped(on a Monday). Well that Friday I got an email from Ebay stating that the listing had been taken down, and the seller had been either suspended or deleted(as it was saying the seller didn't exist when I clicked contact).

I waited out the allotted shipping time like it said,(which was literally only a week from the purchase date)  and when it wasn't received, I went to open a file in the resolution center, and my purchase history has completely disappeared as if I never even made a purchase. Yet I have the receipt, and the charge on my credit card stating that I paid for it.

There is no way for me to contact the seller, or ebay for that matter, and now I'm out not only my item, but my money as well(when they informed me that I was covered by the money back guarantee when the told me about the listing).

What in the world do I do? I am sooo overly frustrated right now...

Hi @cr_belra_8gayp9whjr - that would absolutely be frustrating, but I'm glad that you posted about it here so I can help!

Typically, you can contact Customer Support directly, by phone or social media (Twitter or Facebook). They can help get things sorted out.

In this situation though, I've gotten the information to the right folks and you should expect some messages in your My eBay message center shortly. Thanks!

Tyler,

If you would prefer to contact eBay by phone they can be reached by using the Help And Contact link at the top of the eBay page. Fill in the boxes down the page and it will give you a phone number and code to use when you call along with a wait time.

@cr_belra_8gayp9whjr Since you paid by Paypal, the information about what you had paid and what for should be there.

Including the transaction numbers.

And of course, since you now have an Item Not Received, you can just open the Paypal Dispute (their Resolution Centre is under Tools).

State that the seller is Not A Registered User it moves things faster usually.

And skip the suggestion that you contact the seller. While this is usually a useful step, if the crook seller is NARU it won't help.

Thank you to those that commented with suggestions. I have just been contacted by ebay, and my refund has been sent. It happened so much faster than I could have ever expected!

This is perhaps the most frustrating part of eBay for new users as eBay pulls an item, disciplines the seller usually by termination, and the buyer is left holding the bag not knowing what to do because frankly the email eBay gives is hopeful at best.

Can you pass on to the team who is responsible that they should include a manual link in the email or eBay message on how to visit resolution center without visiting purchase history which for such affected transactions are scrubbed.
