Hi there,
I bought a computer from a seller that includes a monitor(He is US and I'm Canada so we are in the GSP). Now the seller is telling me that the whole can't be packed in two boxes. If he packs one box with the computer and the other one with the monitor, will I have to pay fees once the 2nd box arrives? Do the import fees that I paid for include the 2 packages?
Thanks a lot for the answers,
Olivier

Is the seller sure that the gsp will allow him to ship 2 packages for one transaction? I would be surprised if that is allowed but I could be wrong.
If the seller goes ahead and ships to them without being certain that it is ok, you might end up receiving just one of the two packages.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yeah that was my concern actually! Is there a way to be sure to get both boxes without paying for the 2nd one once it arrives at my door?
Should he ship the computer using the GSP system and the monitor using FedEX or UPS and wish for no import fees?

If he ships one of the boxes with Fedex or UPS you definitely will have tax and/or duty plus a large brokerage fee to pay so doing that is not a good idea. Also, I doubt that the seller is going to pay for the item to be shipped separately so that would be an extra cost as well. When an item goes through the gsp the seller only receives the shipping cost for the item to be sent from their location to Kentucky. The gsp receives the international portion of the shipping cost.
The seller should be able to ship the two items together to Kentucky using one tracking number but I don't know if the gsp will do the same for the international portion of the transaction as the gsp rules state that one order should be in one package. If the gsp people are willing to ship both then you shouldn't be charged any other fees when they are delivered. The problem is that if they don't recognize that there are two packages involved they may deliver one and then if you complain that you didn't get your full order, they will point out that the tracking number shows the item was delivered.
Bottom line - I don't think the problem here is whether or not there will be extra fees but more about whether you would receive both packages. Its just my opinion but in a situation like this I wouldn't be comfortable using the gsp.
