Adcommerce acuses me of "misleading targeting" LMAO

Hello folks. As you know ad-commerce is gone as of yesterday. This morning I received an email from them that may be a phish but doesn't appear to be so. Here's what they just sent me:

"We wanted to inform you that after review we have decided to deactivate one
or more of your Campaigns in your AdCommerce account due to misleading
targeting. Please refer to the Ad Creation Guidelines and Advertising Policies for
guidance. This means that your ad will no longer be displayed in relation to
those keywords or categories. For your reference, these categories are marked
as “Inactive (Terms Violation)” in your Dashboard.

Thank you for your help in making AdCommerce a better and more relevant
place to shop.

Sincerely,

The AdCommerce Team
"

Well, this is a crock. I haven't run any ads in several months. I wonder how many other people received this silly email?

We pretty much all received that message.

Instead of writing a specific message to inform their customers that Adcommerce is now discontinued for USA and Canada, some drone simply inserted a stored, canned, message.

Don't forget that Adcommercie is associated with eBay, the company known for its loving, caring and customer-oriented service where every reply and communication is custom-tailored to specific questions :^O

Yup...exactly what I was thinking. I just didn't want to put my foot in my mouth if it was indeed a phish.

This just in:

"Earlier today you received an email alerting you that one or more of your AdCommerce campaigns have been deactivated due to misleading targeting.

Please disregard this email. It was sent out in error through our automated system. We apologize for the inconvenience. There is no further action required on your part regarding this communication.

As you may have heard through our communication earlier this month, AdCommerce has beem discontinued for eBay.com and eBay.ca as of yesterday, August 4, 2010 in order to deliver the most relevant listings from sellers providing the best prices and service are highlighted in the search results. "

Somebody messed up lol! Quite the expected!

Take a look at any search result page. What do you see?

Well as I have mentioned in the recent past, I was chosen as one of the test pilots for the new Adcommerce that links directly to your website instead of taking you to your ebay store.

To start me off, they called me and personally helped me get the ad up and running, and said they (her name was Christine), would follow up on the following Monday. That was at least 3 weeks ago if not more, and still no call. Not surprised......X-(

"AdCommerce was cancelled "

... only for eBay.ca and eBay.com.

Other sites are still working. I started a new campaign yesterday on eBay.fr (in French of course). 34 hits in the first few hours!
