item I won on was not as described. The item was described as 100% authentic so that is what I expected. I messaged the seller and they made a smart reply. Question: what action should i take before moving forward on this?? I no longer want this item and I am not happy with the sellers reply, very unprofessional and was not willing to level with me. I also will not be looking forward to paying for a very expensive item when it is a fake meaning i was purposly totally mislead and it isn't worth the final price.

The usual process when an item is 'not as described' is to contact the seller first, and if nothing satisfactory comes of that, open a dispute. It sounds like that's the stage you're at. When you do, you may need to return the item at your own expense with Delivery Confirmation. You could be asked to provide proof that the item is fake. (Otherwise people can easily say an item is fake after regretting having spent so much money on it.) So if you are not happy with the seller's response, you will need to open a claim for 'not as described' and follow instructions provided. Section 4 of the following link tells you all about it, and there is a link to the Resolution Center you can use:

At this stage in the transaction, if you don't pay, the seller can I open an unpaid item dispute against you if you don't pay.
Paypal buyer protection covers you and will give you a full refund if you receive an item that is not as described.
Here's the page about it.

The kicker here is that buyer protection starts when you receive the item, not before you pay for it.

Are you stating that you've won an item but have not paid for it because you believe it's not as described? Do you have the item or not?
