As I understand, if I return an item or the item is lost, the global shipping money is NOT refunded.

Of course, I am paying attention that the item has nothing to do with GLOBAL shipping, the item changes too many hands before it is delivered to me. However, when this becomes universal, I (and many many others) wll no longer buy interanational orders. The US will be fine, there are so man more than Canada and the rest of the world. And we will have a lot less choices because our poplutation is so little vs/US and other countries.
This will slow down the sales somewhat and the choices of items a lot.

If an item shipped by an American seller under GSP is lost in the mail, the buyer gets two refunds:
1) from the seller for the full purchase price
2) from Pitney-Bowes for whatever shipping and "import fees" were paid through PayPal.
In case of returns, it is a bit more complicated. One would have to check each individual case with eBay customer support, depending on the exact circumstances why the item is returned. In case of damage in transit for example, many buyers have been told to simply discard the damaged item and received both refunds.

Thank you Pierrelebel. The only way we, Canadians may benefit is if many, many Canadians become sellers and many, many Canadians become buyers. Fill up your inventories, fellow Canadian ebayers. We are a "comin" ......to buy.
