Canada Post; International Parcel - Surface listed as available when listing item, but now won`t allow it when creating Shipping Label

I listed and sold my first Item yesterday and am now going through the process of shipping it.

When listing it, it offered International Parcel - Surface (Canada Post) when shipping Internationally, and that being the lowest costing method, I added it.

Now 4 hours later the buy-it-now has been clicked and the customer has transfered payment to my paypal, however, now there is no option for shipping using this method. The only methods shown when printing shipping label are International Surface Small Packets, International Air Small Packets, Xpresspost International, and Light Packet International.

Obviously one would assume International Surface Small Packets is similar, or the same but none of the available options will even go through. All of the options say my items dimensions or weight are unfit for that kind of postage (where as International Parcel - Surface accepts those dimensions on the Canada Post website).

My buyer has already transferred payment expecting me to ship tomorrow but with eBay/Paypal saying I can't use the method that they recommended I'm kind of stuck.

The item is 6.7 lbs, 13.5x11x11 inches, and needs to get from Ottawa, Canada to Ferntree Gully, Australia.

What should I do?

Hi riconacho .. Let me tell you what i think..It is a bad idea to ship surface international. Takes weeks and buyers only have 45 days to file claims for not received. Buyers are happy to pay the lowest but will not hesitate to file when 30/40 days have expired.

That is an expensive item.  Should be shipped with tracking and signature required delivery to have Seller Protection via PayPal. Insurance as well.

But , your item and your decision.

So yet again I must ask, what should I do:

Eat the faster shipping charges (which are 170$ for Xpresspost-International, only 70 paid by customer)?

Send it international (which still costs me 30$ for the duties)?

Refund and Re-list with a more appropriate shipping option?
