This may be a bit off topic (although it does involve comics)... does anyone ever feel "guilty" about scoring super crazy deals at garage sales/etc? I was talking to a fellow garage saler this weekend who said his son (age 😎 bought a box of comics from an elderly couple a few months ago for $1 (that's right, $1 for the lot). After looking through the comics, the father realized they had stumbled upon a gold mine (early superman/spider-man editions + many others all in mint condition) & made his son return the comics so that the elderly couple could explore the true value. He just saw the lady last week at a supermarket & it turns out they sold them to a collector for $11,000.00 (that would have been 1.1 million percent markup)... sigh! I sure thought it was interesting that he made his son return the comics instead of capitalizing on the amazing deal... Is it too greedy to make that much money off someone's unawareness of a item's value? Isn't that how a lot of us make a profit (buy things cheap & resell them for more)? Is there a limit to what's okay? Anwyay, it sure prompted some interesting discussion between my wife & I over the weekend about what we would do in a similar situation (didn't really come to any conclusions)! Any thoughts out there on the topic?
