Custom's limits for different countries

Does anyone know where to find what the custom's limits are for personal on-line purchases for different countries?

I realize that one can go to that country's relevant website but Urdu and Swahili me no speak LOL!

Custom's limits for different countries

There have been a few attempts on the International board to create such a list....interest usually dies out pretty quickly after the usual suspects are covered.

If you produce a list of countries I can probably fill in the info for most of them.

Can't help you for most of Africa as I've simply not had any buyers there. On the other hand many Government websites for African nations are either in English or French.

Well all EU countries are the same, pretty sure it's 22 Euro's.

EU countries that are not using the Euro are the equivalent in their domestic currency (ie: UK is 17 Pounds)

Brazil is US$50

Thanks recped,

That could make sense with the EU thing.

I will research this some more and, should I come up with anything different, will post here.

OK!

It is indeed Euro 22.00 to all member states of the EU and is INCLUSIVE of postage (the value of your stamps or postal label will be added to the total).

The limit is in place regardless if the goods are new or used or if purchased from a commercial or private seller.

From what most of my Euro customers tell me (I have LOTS), if the value of the goods (alone) is under 22 Euro they go through fine (free), if the value is over 22 Euro the the total of item value + shipping are taxed.

A good reason to use stealth postage if you can, obviously it would be easy for them to guess at the shipping charges but apparently they don't or perhaps only in rare cases.

Considering what you are selling you should in most cases be able to ensure that your buyers don't pay any taxes (presuming you don't let high morals get in the way ;-)).

recped,

You are absolutely correct and that is my experience as well.

Actually, I have not heard from an OS customer that actually had to pay taxes. My median selling prince is aprx. $15 and that's probably why but I also regularly combine auctions, making for higher value.

So far, so good but it was good to actually research and find out what the limits were.

According to the German, Austrian and French custom's websites, the limit is 22 Euros for all countries that are part of the EU.

However, I cannot read Italian so, who knows?

ALL EU countries are the same and Italy is the token dysfunctional member of the EU.
