The following took place away from eBay, but nonetheless, very funny.
I had a lemon 19" NEC Monitor that I just wanted to get rid of. So I posted it in one of the local online Buy and Sell classified ads. It was clearly stated as non-working. ie blank screen. Asking price was $0, the buyer would pick it up. FREE, all they gotta do is pick it up.
I sure had quite a few offers for it that would only take it if I were to deliver this monitor to them. Rolls eyes
After a few days I finally got someone willing to pick it up themselves:
Donatee (I don't know if that's a real word, so no flames) 1 hour after pickup calls me up:
"Hi Eric. This monitor doesn't work, what's going on?"
My reply: "Yes, that's right. It was stated in the description that it didn't work. That's why it was free"
Donatee: "Oh, ok." Hangs up.
I was going to laugh so hard if he had asked for a refund for the gas and time he had spent to pick this monitor up, but he didn't. I was so disappointed 😞
Was he really expecting a working monitor for FREE?
