Discussion Board Upgrade -- Bug Reports

Hi there, it's lilybean from the Canada team.

As you can see, we have upgraded the Canada discussion boards to offer several new features, along with a new look that is more “eBay" (visit http://www2.ebay.com/aw/ca/200903.shtml#2009-03-30150011 for the original announcement).

Starting today, April 1st, 2009, we are opening this thread so that you can report any bugs or technical issues that you may experience with the upgraded platform.

We will monitor this thread this week through April 6th to collect your reports. Please use this thread for technical issues only. Please be aware that this thread is only for reports of issues with the new discussion board platform. Reports of other eBay site issues will be deleted. In addition, other off-topic and inappropriate posts will be removed.

To report a bug or issue, please use the following format. It will help us figure out why the bug happened and reproduce it so we know how to fix it.
1. Operating system(s) and version(s)(e.g., Windows XP):
2. Browser(s) (With version) (e.g., FireFox2; IE 7.3):
3. URL (URL where error occurred) http://www.?
4. Username(s) of those seeing the bug (your ID)
5. Description/steps taken to reproduce (with all exact link names and relevant page URLs):
6. Actual result: (explain what happened)
7. Error message received (include exact and complete error message text and/or screenshot- not required only if none exists
8. Expected (desired/correct) result

The boards are VERY SLOW to load
Now the avatar system has blown a gasket ....

I am having an issue with the topics on the board where even though I have read and posted to it-it is showing the "updated" icon when there is nothing new posted in the topic.

Long and short the update icon is static on the topics for me ATM.

Hi all.

I don't know if it's a bug, a temporary problem, or a restriction that I just don't know about, BUT....

this morning I tried to post a new topic to the Canada Town Square board, and I just kept getting an error that my post could not be published.

Can anybody explain why? It has been most frustrating. Why can't I post a topic, yet I can post replies to already existing threads?

In addition to the above, I just wanted to add that I am still very frustrated that the "Updated" thread feature is still not working properly.

When I visit a thread that's been updated, I still have to scroll through many posts that I've already read, in order to find the new ones. Most times, it's impossible to remember which ones I've read before and where the new information begins.

Additionally, when I look at the list of topics available on a specific board, some say N (new topic), some say U (updated), and some say nothing at all. Very confusing.

This feature used to work very well. It has been broken for far too long, and I don't understand why ebay cannot fix it!

Hi homme
I solved this problem with the discussion board settings.
Click on "settings " which appear at the top of each thread.
There is an option you can choose to see the last post first. Then save.
Only problem I find is I have to make sure to sign in daily in order for my personal setting to take effect. .

what's up with CTS discussion board this week?

I'm having to sign in TWICE in order to post

Then once I'm in, my settings are no longer saved

I chose 50 topics and posts per page, but it always shows 10 until i re-set it.
