Ebay email claiming I didn't pay for item, and to forward payment....I did pay.

Hi Folks,

I've purchased an item and it was paid by Paypal (I have a email stating it's paid)

I have now received an email from Ebay stating I haven't paid for my item and to contact the seller about making payment......

sounds bogus and not something regular, especially when I know I did pay.

Never had this issue with Ebay and Paypal payment before.I don't trust this email, even though it appears legitimate.

Haven't done anything in contacting the seller and would  like some explanation to what this is all about.

Thanks,

Send it to spoof@ ebay.com.

They will tell you if it is fake.

If the seller has opened an Unpaid Item Dispute, it will be on your eBay Messages page.

You can look on your purchases page and see the items you have bought and their payment status.

You can also check your PP account and see the payment.

It is just barely possible that you sent the payment to a dead account. Unlikely.

It is also barely possible that the seller sent you an invoice that crossed your payment in the mail.

And obviously, don't send any money until you are sure of the problem.

If your paid item does not arrive in 20 days from payment (15 fromEurope, 30 from Asia), go to the bottom of this page and open an Item Not Received Dispute.

You have 60 days to leave feedback. Get this cleared up before you do.

The seller did open an unpaid item dispute, but the item I had ordered was paid for it.
As it turned out, I was assuming we were talking about the actual item I ordered that was immediately paid for by Paypal, and the seller was talking about a second order that he claimed I ordered.
I had no need for a second item.
After I had sent the seller verification I did pay, the second identical order surfaced.
The unpaid item dispute ended with me signing off that "I changed my mind" and the
item that I never did order was "cancelled".
