Enough. I quit

Decision was made last week.

I was selling some titanium products for someone who made them. Sales were good, but never seemed to be great. Just closed my store.

With the increases in ebay fees, store fees, postage, USD decline, and the lack of sales, it seemed it just wasn't worth it anymore. ebay and paypal fees were 25% of sales. The worst part seems to be the ebayspeak - ebay not listening.

I did manage to extend my PS status for another month, and will be listing some items near the end of April, but it will be quiet as I have other work to do. Will be around.

I enjoyed having my gallery but I got bored. I get that way every 5 years or so. Then I caught the eBay selling bug for antiques and I was pumped! My studio was sitting empty while I was out at antique auctions!

I had the upstairs space, not a street level space on Yonge street, so it did not look too weird that I was not there. here we are three years later and I have not painted since. I am not sorry. I need change to keep me happy.

I know someone in Toronto, a fantastic artist, who may be interested in having some of her painings on display if you ever get your studio up and running again and I know for a fact she would not be adverse to donating for a good cause and the opportunity to showcase some of her paintings.

I worked with her husband, a Toronto trial lawyer for the last 3 years and have known him since 1982.

I also have a good frined in Mexico that onws a fabulous gallery, primarily showcasing Mexican and Eurpoean artists but he may be interested in representing a couple of your pieces. Here is the link to his gallery site: http://www.giorgiosantini.com/

I have connections, I know people, I love to network.

Asian imports. I prefer to call them Chinese imports for the purpose of my address, if that is not a problem, never-the-less, I stand to be corrected.

No racial comments intended, only referring to a potential imbalance of trade as a result of allowing the replacement of North American products with the combination of legitimate Asian imports and illegal ones, which are increasing at an alarming rate.

Further note towards whitewashing my comments so as not to offend, some of the imports I refer to may not yet be considered "Illegal" just "Imoral" or "Unethical" or some combination of Illegal, Imoral and Unethical.

By the way I import from many countries including China. I am addressing those products and those manufacturers who are copying products without paying royalties to the owners and generally of a far inferior quality and it is those products whose presence is increasing at an alarming rate, such that they reach the store shelves and eBay Sellers long before they can be confiscated by law enforcement (if at all).
