HELP ! Dispute closed, negative FB left, but he paid this morning !

Hi,

I would like to know how you would react to such a situation. I have a buyer (with poor rating, -1, and many unpaid items, see item 140208706532) who won an auction 24 days ago. I give 7 days to send payment. After 10 days and a reminder, I opened a dispute, to which he finally responded with a promise of payment two days later. Payment never came, but he emailed me again to ask if item was still available. I said yes and he promised payment again. After a few days, I was tired and closed dispute, FVF granted, and left negative FB (Payment not receive, dispute closed...).

That was yesterday afternoon, I was about to relist the item tonight. This morning, I woke up with a pending eCheck for this item...

this guy doesn't give a damn about his rating, and he still can leave feedback, as he responded to dispute.

Ebay should not allow buyer to send payment after FVF is granted and dispute is closed, can you imagine if item was relisted with bids on it ?

Any suggestion, I am usually very good to fix issues with buyer, but I left negative to this guy, he won't probably be cool, I feel trapped !

I always reject (refund) payments after dispute is closed. I also block this person from bidding in future.

This is quite simple. Order cancelled and buyer blacklisted - there no need for additional discussions, excuses, payments and other time wasting activities.

But it is an eCheck he sent, I can't stop it... Should I wait it clears and then send refund ? In your case, if buyer responded to dispute, you are not afraid to get a negative FB by refusing to complete transaction ? Thanks again for your help 🙂

eBay LIVE HELP guy suggested me to complete transaction and discuss about feedback withdrawal with the buyer... Mmmm, not sure I want to ship this $100 item to this guy anymore.

It's up to you, I personaly don't trust weasels who only react when lightning strike. And for that same reason I wouldn't ship to that person... What if he he charges you back? You'll be screwed.

The refund link should be on the transaction details page in the usual spot. I've had no problem refunding echecks, it will show as cancelled in your activity list.

Some people are intimidated by eBay and they do not know how it works. Perhaps the buyer does not know you left a neg for him, or does not know what that means or does not give a s***.

Before refunding I would work with him. Spend 5min and give him a call or send him email. If you will feel bad about a neg, it can be mutually withdrawn I think. But if the ID has -1, there might be no point for the buyer to maintain it and just start a new one.

if he never respond to the dispute you would of been ok, but since he did he was or will be able to.

I don't like that part of the system, I seen it b4 they know if they reply they get to keep there feedback privileges, and soon you will only be able to leave a positive for a scammer like that.

Think it needs some tweaking for buyers like that
