How do I get fee credit when item is returned and I refund money through Pay Pal?

Sold an item that the customer returned to me. I was charged around $8 in sellers fees by eBay originally, Do I need to report this full refund to get fee credit?

When you refunded the buyer, did you use the refund linke in paypal?

In order to get your final value fee credit, you will need to send a transaction cancellation and the buyer will have to select the Agree option.

Let the buyer know that the cancellation does not have any negative side effects against their and that it is so you can recover your fees.
