I recently contacted a buyer to know if she received the item, if everything was okay and if she could please leave feedback. The reply I received was, that she had been travelling, had had no time to looka at all the cards and it would take her longer because she knew nothing about hockey cards. My reply was that all inserts of value had a prica tag on them and base cards( over 300) where worth anywhere from 10 cents to 75 cents on average. Some more depending on player and rarety. This started an avalanche of emails from this buyer telling me that I was harassing her and she would leave me neg feedback if I contacted her again. I have no idea why this buyer was so agressive with me. I had been polite and was only doing a follow-up. Same evening I ended up with neg feedback that eventhough eBay customer service admits was uncalled for, are not removing from my feedback. This feedback cost me 2 watchers on one of the hockey card lots I have up for auction.
I cannot seem to find a way to repply to the feedback to defend myself, eBay admits it was wrong and has all the proof in buyers emails but won't do anything, I am wasting time posting stuff because of the detailed trashing of the quality of my lot, eventhough she knows nothing and had no time to look at it. What the heck do I bother staying with eBay for? How does an honest seller defend themselves?

"Be careful what you ask for, 'cause you just might get it." -
Unfortunately, this is a learning experience. Doncha hate those?
At this point, your Response is fine and your fb percentage is such that most bidders will understand your problem is probably the customer who uses CAPS and exclamation points!! You look calm and professional.
What should be concerning you is that Shipping Cost Rating of 4.2.
Are there any items you can offer Free Shipping on? Of course, this just means you move your shipping cost to the asking price, you don't actually lose any money.
But not only do buyers LOVE Free Shipping, but it gives you an automatic Five Star Rating, which you need to mend that 4.2.

Hi .. I see you have left a response. In my opinion there is never a plus side to asking a buyer for feedback.
You have done all you can. Highly unlikely that the buyer would consider a revision request.

Actually I did not contact her to ask for the feedback, I had contacted her as a follow up to see if she received it and if it was satisfactory.
Usually this shows that I am a concerned seller.

I'm sure that was the case but sometimes the best of intentions go wrong , regrettably.

Those are your words. Did you or did you not ask for feedback? If you did, you made a big mistake as a lot of buyers will not take well to being asked to do so.

"I recently contacted a buyer to know if she received the item"
You opened a can of worms.
"if she could please leave feedback. "
Well, she left it. Now do you see why responders advise sellers not to ask for feedback?
"This started an avalanche of emails "
You initiated the avalanche.
"I had contacted her as a follow up to see if she received it and if it was satisfactory."
If you had used delivery confirmation, you would have known it was received. If the buyer had a problem, she would have contacted you.
In the future, "let sleeping dogs lay" as the old saying goes.

I do appreciate all the comments, I thank you all for them, I do need to add some information to my developing drama.
~I never get confirmation notes about item having reached its destination, I guess I would get this if it is sent by a delivery service other than Canada Post, only time I know a buyer received the item is when I get the feedback.
~I spoke to eBay about contacting her about having received the item, they checked my email to her and told me it was good communication practice as a buyer to do a follow up. I never asked outright for the feedback, only time I mentioned the feednack is when she went balistic on me that she had not had time to look at every single card(out of ,, over 300 cards), this is when I said I was sorry and I was only checking with her that all was fine because there is a limited time on leaving feedback. I really had no clue this was going to start a war. Now she is sending me emails to my private email address using profanity and threats. She is also sending me questions on all my listed items, just to be annoying I guess. All my listings have a watcher I am guessing this is her doing because there were no watchers 3 hours ago.
She is really scaring me, what's next a bunny in boiling water?
I just really have never run into anything like this. I have a full guarantee or refund policy that she could have used if she did not like the item, but she admits to not knowing anything about them yet within an hour she left me neg feedback trashing the quality like an expert.
Thank you for all your advice and comments

Hello 'mycrazycatwicca',
Perhaps if ebay is not doing anything about the problem, it's because there really is no 'extortion'. Here is ebay's policy on feedback extortion, to tell you what it is and isn't:
