I ordered an item from China, paid with paypal and received paypal transaction ID. Next I received

email from Ebay confirming order with a transaction ID number all was okay.  After approx. 20 days from ordering, I received an email from seller through Ebay who had opened a case against me for not purchasing the items that I did purchase from this particular seller.  For some reason there is a duplicate order.  How this happened, I have no idea.  I have all the information required to show that I did purchase the item.  The seller has since cancelled the (other ) order but I still have a restriction on my account for not purchasing the same item from this duplicate order.  Hope this makes sense.  If there is another buyer out there who can provide feedback on this issue as I have tried to contact Ebay to explain my situation but there is only so long one can listen to elevator music and "your call is important to us, please stay on the line, an agent will be with you in a moment"

Sellers don't usually open disputes when an item is not purchased. There is no transaction to dispute.

Do you mean the seller is claiming that you did not pay?

If so go to your Paypal account, find the payment and give that transaction number in the dispute.

Don't worry too much about the names. A seller can have different names on an account: personal (Jane Doe, Chou En-lai), eBay ID (e_drew, reallynicestamps), shop name (Jerry's Favourites, BestBeeHoney),Paypal ID (an email address).

But you believe there was a duplicate order, for which you did not pay?

And the seller cancelled that order?

Can you find the eBay transaction number of that purchase?

Your seller may be confusing the paid (and shipped?) order and the cancelled (unpaid and unshipped) order.

And also language difficulties. And China is just finishing up the Lunar New Year holiday when businesses are likely to be short-staffed.
