I paid for a item using my credit card but i dont have a paypal?

A couple of weeks ago I requested a refund for a item i bought so the refund was accepted but i later on found out that they sent the refund to a pay pal and showed me a transaction number and I dont have a paypal i used my credit card not a paypal it never required me to make a paypal and i asked the seller about it and she/he told me that to:

Please refer to the paypal refund transaction (and the transaction number) The refund will not go back to your credit card directly. Would you please login your paypal and check for the refund ?

But i dont have a paypal so who did he/she send it to and how do i get my refund? I was thinking about calling customer support but im not sure if you need to pay long distance charges ?

Paypals telephone number is toll free

However my understanding is that you do have to open an account using that card in order to get a refund.

In my experience, the refund will go to your credit card, but it will appear in your account a few days after the refund.

Check your credit card activity again after 2/3 business day. The refund transaction may alredy posted.

I speak from experience as this just happened to me the other day. I paid for item using my credit card, using the ebay checkout to make a 1 time paypal payment to seller. Item never arrived. Seller offered transaction cancellation, and I accepted. I do not have a paypal account. Seller refunded on July 19, and it was processed back as a credit which showed up this morning, July 23. Did you use ebay checkout, and enter your card number, expiry date, and 3 digit code on the back of your card? If so, the refund is probably in process, depending on when the refund was processed. If you paid them using your card in some other way other than ebay checkout, you may want to call your bank for a chargeback. As I dont know when this was done, I cant say when it will come through. But, if only done yesterday, give it a couple of days to show up.
