I have found out from one member of the eBay community that I can put multiple books in one listing for auction. However, I still don't know how to go about doing this. Any ideas? Hints? Many thanks from a newbie to selling.

It's not unusual to see "lots" with multiple titles and a common theme- all the same author, or genre, for example.
What you can't do, is make a "choice" auction, for example, "Choose any three titles from this group of 60 for only $10" unless you can fill multiple orders for the same title, like someone ordering three copies of The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy". (If that sounds unlikely, think university courses.) And how do you delete the titles you no longer have?
But your best bet is to go back to your informant for more detailed instructions.

I didn't try it either, but it's possible: take a look at listing #200595117152 (completely different types of threads), #221120999996 (2 choices: color and length), #151056472478 (3 different sets), #330921826805 (14 options for color), #161033454960 (different parameters in single drop-down menu: length, color and sets).
I have seen, if memory serves, 3 drop down menus in some listings.
Maybe searching eBay help for multiple listings or multi-variations listings will help.
