If you are a smart seller you will NOT accept Paypal for items with no tracking number.I have found this out again today for the last time.If you do not have proof of sending with tracking number all your buyers can get their money back whether they received their item or not.You have no say in the matter and Paypal will always take the money from your account,if by chance your account has no funds, they get it from your Visa that is registered with them.I lost more again today on a small packet shipment that has only been mailed 10 days ago via surface (as requested by buyer)it did not stand a chance at getting there yet but they have already scooped the money from my account for the second time this week.
The second problem was that Paypal invoices sent out to my buyers with shipping. My buyers click PAY and on the next page my shipping amount dissapears and only the amount for the sale appears.I have had to refund 14 people in the last week due to this problem. The only way to contact Paypal is to phone them and after 42 minutes on hold i gave up (i wonder what the long distance charges will amount to)This is a tough one with 1800 listings to go and remove the Paypal logo.I am about ready to admit myself to the loony bin from exccess stress.GOD HELP US AS PAYPAL LOVES TO SCREW CANADIANS----But not this one anymore.
PLEASE STOP USING THEM BEFORE YOU GET HIT BY THE CHARGEBACK BUG!!!!!!!!!
We must look out for each other and hope for changes in the future.

I am sorry but I must play devils advocate.
There are many problems with Paypal but the convenience and integration has not been matched (to my knowledge) by any other outfit.
As for invoicing I have not had that problem for I use Seller Manager Pro and I get to add my shipping/taxes/customs to the total and that is the way it stays. Of course there is always that intrepid buyer who pays before hand making up his/her own shipping costs (usually much lower) This results in a game of e-mail tag to get the remaining balance.
I do admit though that PayPal takes alot from their Ebay counterparts and fees are the name of the game and we are all losers (well in the fee game anyway :).
All in all Paypal does need a look over its way of things especially its integration in the ebay.ca site.
And as you said we do need to look out for eachother it just makes sense!

Another alarming comment to this.....It is coincidental that it is 99% new users doing the chargebacks. WAKE UP PAYPAL, I smell fraudulent usage of this feature. Buyers who have experience would not chargeback before they hash it out with the seller. That in itself should be a red flag! I feel your frustration bookworms.X-(

Bookworm, if I didn't accept paypal, my business would suffer horribly. Not accepting it is just not an option for most people.

85% of my eBay customers pay with PayPal so I have no choice as there are no alternatives. I do however ship everything with tracking and insurance.
If these were US shipments, I would report non-delivery to the US Postmaster General. It is a criminal offense in the US to receive mail and deny receipt seeking refinds and if this is wide-spread fraud then they will act on it.
USPS has special agents that deal with these types of incidents and they take them very seriously (they even carry guns) and will follow-up with your customers.
You might advise your customers what you are planning to do and see if any of them reverse their PayPal refunds.

I think my mother's saying was "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face."
Losing so many customers because of a policy created because of the occasional bad penny is just bad business.

I am using management pro and it may be part of the problem with the shipping.I may never know as Paypal did not answer my phone call and that is the only way to contact them so i am stuck with this problem.Ebay does not have any interest in this problem either. The only way for me to collect right now is to go directly to paypal and add the shipping into the base amount and leave the shipping box empty.
