Cannot tell from looking. Did this Community previously display the author of the last post (directly under the link to the last post in a thread). It's a convenient feature not just to know who but when. It is easier to remember who the last poster was and not the when, reduces checking inside a post to see nothing new.

Somebody on the US boards reported that the edit time was 5 picoseconds, not 5 minutes. This is just a test. Originally posting at 4:38:00 eastern time.

Okay, I had no idea the page changed at post #20.

So the "in reply to" seems to indicate that we're replying to the poster above us, when the actual content could be replying to someone else in the thread. Looks like it's aimed at one specific poster. I don't understand that.

That actually depends upon own forum Preferences settings...

I have mine set to change at post #50.

Oh I figured that, guess I'm just default setted over here! This "reply to" though, me no like.

For example up above, it looks like nobody*s_perfect is replying to ME about the edit button, when in fact I never mentioned it.

Name shown on "In reply to" text is determined by which Reply button is clicked:

LiveWorld boards work the same way, minus IRT display,

(Only affects who is quoted WHEN using Quote function).

If I use the upper-left, topmost reply button to begin a post,

"in reply" will be to the OP, (fruitacres).

If though, instead, reply button below one of

shipscript's, sandypurin's or pocomocomputing's posts,

(for example), is clicked,

IRT text of new post made will refer to the

member name of that specific post's author...

OMZ! You mean that reply at the top of the page?!

Who's going to scroll all the way to the top to reply? I think it's a horrible function.

Don't the programmer realize that people post a reply "in general" and not specifically directed at either the OP or the above poster? Now we'll have all of these arguments, "That wasn't directed at YOU superman_2003"!
