Is there one thing that makes a best match hit the top of the list over others...
Example I am selling 1 movie $3.99 99.8 % feedback/Free shipping over 4000 feedback
Another guy selling the movie for $10 free shipping and from the US is my best match 100% feedback just over $1000 feedback ..
So as a customer not a seller I find this stupid ... Ebay is telling my best match is an item that cost 3 times the best deal and is in another country which is really just stupid .. There is another Canadian seller selling it for $3.98 100% feedback with about the same amount of feedback as the US guy and they are below me on the best match ...
My listing has been up for about 1 year with sales so what gives ... IS the best match system so bad that it would tell me to wait 3 times as long as I need to and pay 3 timesa more then I need too...
Just looking for what makes best match a real best match because from what I see the best matches are rarely the best for me ....

It's the thin end of the wedge - camels nose under the tent. If if ain't broke don't fix it.

Hi Pocomocomputing.
Raphael just figured it out.
Local pick-up is not available on the add/remove menu when you are using calculated shipping on eBay.ca.
I was using Flat Rate shipping, and that's why I was consistently getting a different experience.
Thanks for pointing this out! Now that we can recreate it, we'll see if we can get this in line for a fix.

If you try, for example, iphone 5 case or ipod touch 4 case; all buy it now listing in the "best match" results are all buy it now listings from the same seller.
I know all items in a store should be from the same seller... haha. For example, check in my store, many of my best match items haven't items sold on them... Not like usual
Hi
Q1. I've tested the iPhone 5 Case example and are not seeing anything unusual in the results set. I did notice many of the first few items from buy it now are from the same seller but after that other sellers begin to appear.
Q2. Sorry, I'm not clear on the question. Please provide me an example of what you are seeing different? Btw, you have a great store.

Also if the best match system is so stupid why not get rid of it ...
If I told you your neighbor is selling something for $100 brand new would you drive to another country to pay 3 times as much and say I GOT THE BEST DEAL ...
Sorry but I have put alot of time into to try and figure out this VERY flawed system and would like to know if anyone can add a hint of truth to this matter ..
Many other ebay members have mentioned things to me but none of it makes sense in many situations ....

Do you have the list 50 items for free promotion going and how does it work? (I understand I would pay a fee if my items sold)
03-06-2013 01:48 PM
Thank you raphael!
What about the situation where say a new ebay.ca member-seller lists on ebay.ca and offers to ship within Canada but does not set up buyer requirements. A foreign member purchases. Should the Canadian them complete the sale or doing so would be a violation of policy?
03-06-2013 01:50 PM
I got the same result as lecoffre described, every fp listing on the first page was the same seller
WHile bad for the other sellers, at least its a Canadian with an item viable for a Canadian to buy. A lot of other .ca searches BM sorts are now dominated by American/French/Aussie items that will never ever be bought by a Canadian due to huge S&H or the fact the time wont even work here. Huge change from ~1.5 weeks ago.

Hi Pocomocomputing.
I tested the add/remove Pay on Pickup option on eBay.ca last week.
I just tested it again, using 3 different browsers. Unfortunately I cannot replicate the issue that you are reporting.
We'll try getting someone in customer support to help piggyback into your account to try it. Seems very odd that this is happening just to you, and no matter which browser you select.
I just tried again, started a listing from scratch with the Sell SYI form using another browser Goggle Chrome and still cannot see the option in Add or Remove programs on eBay.ca.
Strange. I will try on another computer later and see what happens.

This is a comment that I'll need to investigate further, I'll forward your comments to our team as well. Can you please provide me example of the search query and the item numbers that you have described? That way I can replicate.
Great comment/question.

Sorry I should have given more details. Meeting the international selling requirements will allow for a seller's listings to show up on foreign eBay sites. The policy doesn't regulate who can come to the seller's home site to buy their item, that depends on where the seller offers to ship and what their Buyer Requirements are.

Greetings,
Since upgrading my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 8, I have a challenge with printing Canada post shipping labels.
-Always prints a second page that is mostly blank and says "Powered by Pitney Bowes" at the top
-Cuts off a bit of the right side of the label
So far this hasn't caused a shipping issue, but it sure is a heck of a waste of paper!
Thanks!

Ignore this post as I did not have you latest posts. I will test more with this information.

Hi 2012ruthiebaby80,
Do you mean this http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/insertion-fee.html#free?
It's ongoing, so it's available to you on a monthly basis.
Let me know if you're talking about another promotion.

Thanks tobyshitzu, we chatted last week regarding this issue. Feel free to post more examples of the issue you have found and I can review.

Try this listing : 130600153953
More than 5000 items sold, always had in the first page of my store. not now ...
In October, I had the same case. I spoke to a french ebay.ca agent. She worked for me and, finally, eBay had a technical issue. I still have the answer she gave me, but in french.

This problem comes up a few times in the eBay.com and eBay.ca forums. Issues like this are most likely caused by the browser setting for printer margins. Try changing the browser margins from default 0.75 to 0.5 inches on all sides.

Hi cbsalesnb,
Thanks for the head's up - we'll keep an eye on this.

Rapahel "If any of these cases are recent, please give me the item number, I would love to take a closer look."
They go back over a year.
Since then, whenever I need to charge extra for registration or other extra charge specifically requested by the buyer, I send an extra PayPal invoice, where I pay the extra $0.30 PayPal fee and avoid being ripped off by eBay for FVF (sorry but I cannot think of another word to describe the fee overcharge).
