Need help with a problem customer

Hi Guys and Gals,

I had a "unreceived item" complaint filed against me recently through ebay by a guy in Mexico who has a history of crying non-receipt and several of his feedback call him a scam artist. My question is this is my first time getting a complaint filed this way, in the past it's always been via paypal and I end up having to refund because of course I don't have tracking info to provide, so can anyone tell me what I can expect from this process? More of the same as paypal?...So far I have provided my responses and emailed the guy digital pictures of the stamped customs form as proof of mailing.

I'd appreciate any input, the item number for this item is 8744993942.

Thanks in advance,
Marcello

How did they pay?
When did you ship?

Is the PayPal time limite 45 days? if so I guess they filed via eBay because it was too late for PayPal (could always do a credit card chargeback if they used one and are aware that they can).

If you sent via Small Packet and the value is under $100 tell the buyer you will file a claim with CP and send him a refund when the claim is settled.

Does Canada post insure for the cost of the goods or the value I sold it for?...I'm guessing the cost.

Actually..I shipped an item via airmail on January 5th or 6th too..and I just got an e-mail saying that they never received it O_O

I am putting a claim with CP, and resending another item. The buyer was really nice and offered to pay for the shipping again.

We have had the same problem using CANADA POST SMALL PACKET AIR MAIL. The package was sent out on the 19th of January and client only on February 24th last. I suggest to wait a little.

Appreciate the responses, but what I'd like to know is can anyone tell me what to expect from a non-receipt claim filed through ebay...I've only dealt with paypal issues before...I know when the roles are reversed and we go through a NPB claim the buyer gets an unpaid item strike...is there anything similar for sellers?

Well, the one Buyer jerk I dealt with used PayPal (to get his $$ back before Item could have arrived), but eBay didn't say boo.

You may also be able to file a FVF refund...?

You may want to ease off on those CAPS... no need to shout here.

Simple solution is, if you don't want the risk, then don't take it... every business (including B&M) have a risk of loosing stock. Here, we loose it in non receipt claims. As long as it's small % of your sales, eat it as any other business would do.
