I found this CP document by doing a Google search.
http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/prices/SBParcels-e.pdf
Good news.
New Jan 13, 2014 rates for Small Packet USA Air is 8.03 250 g, 10.66 500 g, 16.03 1 kg
Current Small Packet USA Air is 7.80 250 g, 10.35 500 g, 15.56 1 kg.
So increase of $0.23 250 g, $0.31 500 g, $0.47 1 kg.
I have not read about other services but SP do not seem to be more than the 3.2% average CP said for parcel services.

Thanks for the info.
The increases will definitely be manageable for my items in the New Year.
One less thing to be concerned with in regards to my business model.

Yes sir, me too!
My buyers (mostly unbeknownst to them) get a bigger 'subsidy' every year, but I've worked out ways to manage those losses in other areas. It's not as if postal hikes each January are any surprise. I've got to the point where I just factor in a "guesstimated" 5% increase across the board for every new year and spread the pain around elsewhere.
However, I must admit if I looked back into my records of shipping costs for, say 2008, I might need to have a good boo-hoo crying jag.

The majority of my packages are under 100gr and sent with Light Packet USA which is going up by 43%. So I will have to increase somewhere. The small increase on small packets is great...on light packet...not so much. Oh well.

Quite true -- I keep forgetting about our flagging dollar. Flag on, Canada!

Silly me. That must mean it is only a 35% increase.

Parcels are only going up 3%-4%
Lettermail, Letterpost (including Light Packets) - I would guess this affects a huge percentage of Canadian sellers - are going up 30%-35%

The one benefit to Light Packet 100 grams is that it is going have a new weight break of 150 grams. While the items that were in the 100 gram limit will have a hefty increase (LP USA $2.65 to $3.79 or $1.14 increase), items in the 101-150 gram range will see a decrease from the 101-250 gram rate of $6.37 (new rate) ($5.53 old rate). So you will save in the 101-150 g range new vs new rates $6.37-$3.79=$2.58 or old vs new $5.53-$3.79=$1.74.
So any currently listed item in the 101-150 range shipping in the 250 gram LP USA class will make an extra profit of at least $1.74. Price can be lowered to be more competitive or pocket some of the difference.
A similar situation will exist LP International 100 and 250 gram class.
A small advantage that can be exploited by Canadian Sellers whenever possible who have items that are 101-150 grams.

I'm seeing 3% increases or is my math wrong?
7.80 to 8.03 is 2.95%
10.35 to 10.66 is 3.09%
15.56 to 16.03 is 3.02%
Dollar has dropped 3% just in the last few weeks. Saw-off.
As I said in my other post, I mainly use light packet USA as most of my items are between 30 and 80 gr.
$2.65 before tax to $3.79 before tax is a $1.14 -- 43% increase
The increase to 150 gr will help me in a few cases but not often enough to make up for the increase under 100 gr.
Any type of increase affects everyone in different ways. My point in posting was that not everyone is looking at a basic 3% increase.

"I must then assume that with a Ventureone number one qualifies for the price quoted as Meter or Postal Indicia...."
That is not the information I received from my post office manager.
Apparently, the "meter" lower rate only applies to customers with a business accounts (contracts) and using their own meter machine, typically a Pitney-Bowes machine (not the post office meter).
