Red Flags

Hi everyone,

I have a dilemma about this sale...

It's a new eBay member from Russia with no feedback. My gut instinct is saying refund and cancel transaction. I always want to support new members BUT this item is going to Russia and I cant afford the difference for shipping with tracking. The buyer did pay for airmail with no tracking, usually most of my buyers are from the United States so I usually throw in the extra for tracking on expensive items.

I feel like a rock stuck in a hard place.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Re: Red Flags

I also say "Your gut knows best"

I had a brand new customer buy from me (Canada so lettermail is all I ship it by)

Within 24 hrs after a mark shipped

I have a case on paypal "Item not recieved" I'm like WTF

He escalates the moment he's able too

and I'm forced to refund him his money

I had a gut feeling about a brand new account being opened but I was like I'll support new eBayers.

Re: Red Flags

That is exactly the reason why my "gut" is freaking out! I was burned in December by someone in the US for $20 this item is $60 and now Canada Post no longer provides liability coverage for Small Packet service which was the only economical way to send packages overseas.

Thanks a lot Canada Post! Grrrrr.

Question:

Would it be against eBay policy to refuse to sell to this buyer? Would it be in poor character to refund the purchase and refuse to ship to Russia because of no insurance coverage?

I actually looked into third party insurance and they don't cover to Russia. Hmmmmm more red flags popping up.
